What computers does our beneficiary accept?
Sunday Friends accepts laptops (Windows & Mac) and not desktops. Due to space limitations, we are focusing on laptops at this time.
Is there a minimum system version, speed, memory, age?
There is no minimum required, any functional computer, Mac or PC laptop would work.
Do we need hard drive, power cord, drivers and operating systems with the used computer(s)?
Yes, if your company remove the hard drive due to sensitive data, please ask if another hard drive can be put in.
How do we erase data from your old laptop?
We will be using Acronis True Image Plus which include a utility named Drive Cleanser to wipe out old data. It uses standard and custom algorithms to wipe data irrevocably. Acronis Drive Cleanser 6.0 includes most known national governmental standards for hard disk data destruction, for example the U.S. Standard, DoD 5220.22-M. Acronis. Drive Cleanser 6.0 also includes powerful erasing algorithms developed by authoritative experts in computer data security.
How do these laptops support STEM activities at Sunday Friends?
The objective is to enable under-privileged families to learn computer skills and have the ability to easily access online educational contents such as Khan Academy, Edhelper etc. Sunday Friends will be providing the STEM outreach program and the facilities for the kids to learn and use the computers.

You can reach me at terenceleet31@gmail.com so that I can arrange to have my driver (a.k.a. Dad) to come pick up the device(s) at your convenience.
What you can do to help?
Please help spread the word around. I will also be hosting workshop(s) where scouts will refurbish and check to ensure each laptop is functional with an appropriate power supply, operating system, anti-virus software and all personal data will be removed from the hard drive.
Do we provide computer training during deployment?
Yes, we will help train Sunday Friends' children on how to use the computer to leverage online education to foster STEM knowledge. My plan is to develop electronic and hard copy user manuals in Spanish and English to support the STEM training.
